THIRD GRADE NEWS

Here are this week’s notes and reminders:

THANK YOU – Thank you to Mrs. Whitmre, Mrs. Sefcovic, and Mrs. Ferro for helping our class with their turkey hats. Thanks to you we were a mighty fine looking bunch of turkeys!!
THANK YOU – Thank you to Mrs. Kroll, Mrs. Freedle, and Mrs. Sefcovic for helping our class with our Ice Cream Party last week.
NO SCHOOL – we will not have school next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (11/25-11/27) – Thanksgiving Break. Take some to celebrate and thank God with your family and friends for the many Blessing God has so richly showed all of us.
MEMORY – We will NOT have a Memory Assignment for next, week due to our short week. Our next Memory Assignment will be when we return from Thanksgiving Break. Your child’s Memory Assignment for Wednesday December 2nd will be Psalm 23:3-4.
SPELLING – We will NOT have any Spelling Assignments (Tests, Sentences, or ABC Order) next week, due to our short week. We will continue our regular Spelling Schedule after Thanksgiving Break. Unit #14 Spelling Sentences will be due on Monday, November 30th.
BOOK MARKS – Book Marks will be due this Friday (tomorrow!!). Your child should have 60 minutes or more for this week’s Book Mark. We will NOT have a Book Mark due next week. Your child’s next Book Mark, after this Friday, will be due on Friday, December 4th. Your child will need to have 120 minutes or more for that Book Mark.
STATE REPORT AND PROJECT SCHEDULE – Attached you will find a schedule of when your child has been assigned a time to give their oral presentation on their state and project (state flag). You are welcome to join us on the day your child does their presentation. Attached you will find another copy of the information sheet for the project…just incase the first one was misplaced. J Please note that the flags do have to be on 11x14 poster board. Flags not made on 11x14 poster board will be docked one letter grade. If you have any question, please let me know. Projects and reports are due Tuesday, December 1st.
ADVENT SERVICES – Our class will be participating in the Advent Services on Wednesday, December 2nd. The services will be at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please have your child dressed in their Sunday best for both services. If you would like to send a change of clothes for your child to change into after the 10:00 a.m. service, that would be great. Please have your child at our classroom between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. for the evening service. This program is not optional – your child is required to be there.
MID-TERMS – Next Tuesday (11/24) marks the midway point of the 2nd Quarter. Mid-Term Reports will be sent home with your child on Wednesday, December 2nd.
PINK AND BLUE SLIPS – We will begin implementing Late Assignment Notices (blue slips) and Detention Notices (pink slips) after we return from Thanksgiving Break. Please be sure your child understands the importance of turning their assignments in on time.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS – On Friday, December 4th, we will have an early release at 11:30 a.m. Please be sure to have arrangements made to pick up your child at that time.
BOX TOPS – Keep collecting those Box Tops for Education. Thank you!!
